Maggie Hathaway was an actress, sportswriter, civil rights activist, and advocate for her community. Her life’s work was rooted in opening doors to a game that had too often kept people out.
The 2023 U.S. Open Legacy Campaign helped catalyze the restoration of Maggie Hathaway Golf Course, aligning public agencies, philanthropic partners, and the golf community.
Through partnerships with Fore Youth Golf, SAYPI, WSGA, and others, the course continues to support youth development, mentorship, and pathways into the game for those historically underrepresented.
